Email Setup for Mozilla Thunderbird

Download Mozilla Thunderbird here: www.mozilla.org/en-US/thunderbird.

Once Mozilla Thunderbird is downloaded and installed, the mail account setup cannot begin until two prompts are answered. When the System Integration popup appears, choose Skip Integration.

A popup will appear for setting up a new email address that partners with Mozilla, (gandi.net). Click on Skip this and use my existing email.


Enter your NameEmail address, and Password. Click Continue.

Quickly click Manual Config at the bottom of the next screen (right image). Thunderbird will attempt to auto-configure your email based on your domain (cccomm.net) causing the connection to fail. Quickly clicking Manual Config puts you on the screen to input your email server information.

Change the incoming server type to POP3 from the dropdown menu. By default, it is set to IMAP.

Fill out the rest of the information – server hostname, port numbers, SSL and Authentication dropdown menus. When complete, click Done.

A warning screen popup will appear. Check the I understand the risks box and click Done.

Your email is set up and you are ready to use Thunderbird!
