This article applies to: Customers with Email Accounts on their iPhones
Customers who use an iPhone to check email may be experiencing an error or be unable to access their CC Communications email due to an IOS update – which may have changed Security Authentication.
Configuration of the email account on your iPhone requires no SSL authentication and uses Server Port 110. This update sometimes changes the authentication to use SSL or even updates the port to 993. This change causes your device to no longer be able to access emails.
You can confirm the settings on your device by going into Settings -> Account & Passwords -> Selecting your CC Communications email account -> Advanced. Then confirm that “Use SSL” is turned off and the “Server Port” is set to 110. Please see the images below for reference to an incorrectly configured account.
