Is your operating system up to date?

Computers need updates to help protect your computer from virus and malware attacks and loss of data or Identity theft. It is not the ONLY way to stay protected, but it is one of the most common ways people get into trouble. If your computer is not kept up to date with the latest patches and updates, then what those patches and updates fix are a way for your computer to be compromised.

Thankfully Windows and iOS do most of the work for you behind the scenes and keeps an eye for anything new needed for your computer.

Is your operating system up to date?

With Windows 10 there have been problems with some of the big updates that they call Spring Creators updates or Fall Creators updates. As the name implies, these are major updates done twice a year. There are many updates done all year long but these are what used to be called Service Packs. There have been some customers that have run into problems with these due to small hard drives, or they simply have too much on their hard drive and the Creator updates can’t download or install. If you are unable to free up space, or not sure what is going on, please bring your computer into our repair shop and we can get this done.

If you have a laptop that only has a 32gb hard drive, it would be time to start thinking about getting either a newer computer or a bigger hard drive in the computer. There have been several that I have dealt with that are tricky to get the updates on computers with such small hard drives. They are generally laptops that are less expensive, and this is a main reason. I recommend hard drives of at least 500gb in any computer.
